The Asantehene (king), Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is scheduled to submit a report to Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama today, Tuesday December 16, 2025, on the conflict in Bawku.
The report is the outcome of a mediation process forming of efforts to get peace in Bawku.
Earlier in 2025, President Mahama appointed the Asante King to lead mediation efforts aimed at resolving the chieftaincy crisis in Bawku.
In April this year, the mediation process began when Otumfuo held engagements with representatives of the feuding factions.
The negotiations were briefly suspended but resumed in May 2025.
The mediation process has since resulted in a period of relative calm in Bawku which has experienced crisis for decades.
The mediation report is expected to outline key findings, progress made, and recommendations.
It is expected to guide the next phase of government action towards restoring sustainable peace and stability in Bawku.
