Apple has officially reached a $4 trillion market capitalization, becoming only the third publicly traded company in history to achieve this valuation—alongside Microsoft and Nvidia.
Shares of the iPhone maker surged to a record high of about $270 during early Tuesday trading, briefly lifting Apple’s market value beyond the $4 trillion threshold before easing slightly. By comparison, Nvidia currently holds a market cap near $4.7 trillion, while Microsoft stands around $4.1 trillion.
The company’s latest stock rally has been fueled by strong demand for the recently launched iPhone 17. According to data from Counterpoint Research, the new model outsold the previous generation in both the U.S. and China during its first ten days on the market.
Despite this milestone, Apple’s stock has risen only about 7% in 2025, lagging behind other tech leaders amid investor concerns that the company may be slower to capitalize on the artificial intelligence boom. Nvidia’s shares have soared 44% this year thanks to its dominance in AI chipmaking, while Microsoft, a major investor in OpenAI, has gained roughly 29%.
The broader U.S. stock market also opened higher on Tuesday, extending gains from Monday’s record-setting session, as strong corporate earnings and easing trade tensions between Washington and Beijing lifted investor sentiment.
Apple continues to rank among the most profitable companies in the world. In its most recent fiscal year, it reported $391 billion in net sales and $94 billion in net income, driven largely by over $200 billion in iPhone sales, alongside $96 billion from services, $30 billion from Mac sales, $27 billion from iPads, and $37 billion from other products.
