Cape Verde has for the first time in history qualified for the FIFA World Cup.
The tiny island nation beat Eswatini 3 – 0 on Monday, October 13, 2025 to become the sixth African nation to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
They became the 22nd nation to qualify for next year’s tournament which will take place across Canada, Mexico and USA.
The other five African nations already qualified for the mundial are Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, and Ghana.
