Ruto Holds Bilateral Talks With Barbados Prime Minister

Kenyan President, William Ruto, has held bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley. 

The two leaders met in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Their meeting took place on the sidelines of the ongoing African Union-CARICOM Summit taking place in Addis Ababa.

During the meeting, Ruto and Prime Minister Mottley discussed ways to deepen Kenya and Barbados ties.

According to Mr. Ruto in a post on his official Facebook page following the meeting, they also “reviewed pressing global security challenges, with a particular focus on the UN Security Council-mandated mission in Haiti.

He says “With the current mandate expiring, we stressed the urgency of the Security Council’s guidance on a responsible and timely transition.”
