Ghana’s main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially opened nominations for its presidential primaries scheduled to take place in 2026, setting Ghc 100,000 as fee for nomination forms and Ghc 500,000 as filing fee.
The nominations process which started on Tuesday, July 29, is set to close on August 28, 2025.
According to the NPP, interested aspirants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Ghc 100,000 and a Ghc 500,000 filing fee, totally Ghc 600,000.
On Tuesday, July 29, in Accra, NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong says the primaries will be held on January 31, 2026.
He says “I’m happy to announce to you that we have officially opened nominations for our party members to become presidential candidates of our party for the 2028 elections.”
