World football governing body, FIFA, has inaugurated its first Africa office in Morocco.
The office, located at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salè, was inaugurated on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, CAF President, Patrice Motsepe, and the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, attended the inauguration ceremony along with several other dignitaries.
In his inaugural speech, Mr. Infantino says “This is a historic moment, a festive and joyful day that will be etched in golden letters in the history of FIFA and African football, in Morocco, and across the world.”
He says “I thank His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the momentum he has given to the development of sport across the continent.”
According to him, the Mohammed VI Complex, now home to the FIFA Africa office, has become a nerve center for African football and a symbol of a country, and a continent, looking toward the future.
