Galatasaray Submits First Champions League Bid for Victor Osimhen

The race to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is intensifying, with Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray becoming the first European club to submit an official bid to Napoli for the forward, increasing the likelihood of his return to Champions League football.

According to reports, Galatasaray have tabled an offer of €50 million plus €5 million in add-ons for Osimhen in the 2025 summer transfer window. However, the bid falls short of Napoli’s valuation, with the Italian club having previously set a €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract. Napoli are reportedly holding out for a higher fee and have not yet responded favorably to the initial proposal.

Galatasaray remain optimistic about their chances and are prepared to return with an improved bid. Crucially, Osimhen is said to be open to a return to the Turkish club, where he previously spent time, and has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Galatasaray. The player’s interest could be pivotal in negotiations, though the final outcome hinges on both clubs agreeing on the transfer fee and deal structure.

Meanwhile, Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal are also in the race, reportedly ready to trigger Osimhen’s €75 million release clause. As discussions continue, the 26-year-old striker’s future remains uncertain, but with two major clubs in pursuit and Osimhen eager for a new challenge, a transfer could be finalized in the coming weeks.
