Nigerian pop singer, Rema hit song ‘Benin Boys’ featuring Shallipopi has been featured on the EA Sports and Spotify Soundtrack for the new FC25 video game.

The duo has joined world stars to feature on the EA Sports soundtrack.

EA Sports FC25’s soundtrack consist of 117 songs from artistes globally, offering a variety of musical styles to suit the diverse tastes of players.

According to CEO of Dapper Music, Damilola Akinwunmi the addition of Afrobeats highlights the global acceptance of the genre.

“Shallipopi continues to add new feathers to his cap, he continues to make new history and he continues to champion the Benin heritage with every move he has made in his young career. [Benin Boys] is an appropriate song for this new landmark in his career,” Akinwunmi said.

“Shallipopi’s growing influence is transcending the confines of Afrobeats. An artist with legitimate superstar qualities, the Pluto Presido surely has more accolades and measures of cultural impact on the way.

“Shallipopi has become a staple within the Afrobeats space within a short space of time, after dominating the airways with his viral breakthrough record “Elon Musk” in 2023. His influence has spread steadily beyond the shores of the Nigerian music space, extending his fanbase on foreign soil with his vibrant music and suave personality.

“Shallipopi’s distinct style has also earned him the respect of fellow artists who are drawn to his perspective on music, having popularised the Pluto sound while representing his hometown of Benin City with energy and verve.

“His collaboration with Rema on “Benin Boys” sent shockwaves through the country, and the impact of that record has had far-reaching effects that transcend Afrobeats. The record was recently featured on the EA Sports and Spotify Soundtrack for the new FC25 video game.

“Over the years, the game has been a cultural staple around the world and has been an avenue for young people to learn about sounds from around the globe. This record is the latest Afrobeats song to make it on the iconic video game, and signifies the viability of Shallipopi’s music in multiple spaces.”
