Two boys have drowned in the Nyimba District of Zambia’s Eastern Province, while another aged seven has been rescued after they went swimming in a soak-away.
The deceased have been identified as Prince Sakala, aged eight, and Ernest Mapeti, aged eleven.
All three children are from Samora 2 Compound. Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer ROBERTSON MWEEMBA confirmed the incident, which occurred yesterday, January 27, at around 10:00 hours.

Mr. MWEEMBA said a member of the community discovered that the two boys had already drowned and managed to rescue the third child.
He said the rescued boy has been admitted to hospital and is receiving medical care.
