American President, Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, arrived in Alaska on Friday to kick off peace talk on the Russia-Ukraine war.

Trump and Putin sat in their meeting room at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on Friday evening, August 15, 2025 shortly after the Russian President touched down on US soil.

The two leaders sat silently in their meeting room.

Earlier upon his arrival at the airport, Putin failed to answer reporters on whether he will agree to a ceasefire.

A journalist asked Trump: “Can you make a deal with him, sir?”
