U.S. President, Donald Trump, has once again said “Nigeria is a disgrace” as he lashed out at the Nigerian government over its poor handling of the security situation in the country, saying terrorists are “killing Christians at will”.
Speaking on Fox News Radio’s ‘The Brian Kilmeade Show’ on Friday, November 21, 2025, President Trump says “I think Nigeria is a disgrace. The whole thing is a disgrace. They’re killing people by the thousands. It’s a genocide. And I’m really angry about it.”
He noted that “And we pay, you know, we give a lot of subsidy to Nigeria which we’re going to end up stopping.”
According to him, “The government’s done nothing. They are very ineffective. They’re killing Christians at will. And you know until I got involved in it two weeks ago — nobody even talked about it.”
Abductions and Killings
President Trump’s latest remarks come in the wake of mass killings and abductions across Nigeria. Armed bandits recently attacked a church in Eruku Community in Kwara State, killing innocent Christians.
Also, the bandits have abducted at least 315 students and teachers from a Catholic school in the Niger State of Nigeria.
The Niger State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) confirmed the number of students and teachers abducted.
According to CAN, those abducted include 303 students and 12 teachers.
The students and teachers were abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara LGA.
Armed bandits are alleged to have carried out the attack around 2:00 a.m. on November 21, 2025.
Initially, CAN said the abductees were 227, among them “215 pupils and students, including 12 teachers.”
But in a new statement released today, Saturday, November 22, 2025, and signed by Bulus Yohanna, CAN Chairman and Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, the Association said a verification exercise and final census indicated the number of missing persons stood at 315 instead of 277.
