In a landmark decision, FIFA has confirmed Saudi Arabia as the host nation for the 2034 World Cup. This marks a significant milestone for the kingdom, which will be the first country to host the tournament alone with a 48-team system.

1. *Historic Hosting Rights*: Saudi Arabia won the bid unopposed, with a record-breaking rating of 419.8 out of 500.

2. *Infrastructure Development*: The kingdom plans to build or renovate 11 stadiums and create 185,000 hotel rooms.

3. *Economic Diversification*: Hosting the World Cup aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to diversify its economy beyond oil.

 

FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised Saudi Arabia’s commitment to growing the game, while Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport, expressed gratitude to the Crown Prince for his support .

 

The 2030 World Cup will be hosted jointly by Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina, marking another historic first with six countries from three continents hosting the tournament.
