Lagos, Nigeria – December 15, 2024 – The 6th edition of the Ofada Rice Day Festival, themed ‘Ofadabration 2.0’, was a resounding success, attracting over 9,000 people from all walks of life, including representatives from the Canadian Deputy High Commission, American Consulate, and British High Commission. The event, which took place recently, was a celebration of Nigerian culture and cuisine, with top Nigerian artists such as Abass Akande Obesere, Reminisce, Reekado Banks, and Brymo thrilling the crowd with their performances.
The festival, organized by Ofadaboy, a renowned Nigerian food and culture ambassador, marked a significant milestone of 15 years of service and catering excellence. The event featured veteran food vendors from across different states, showcasing their products and delighting the attendees with a variety of delicious Nigerian dishes.
In addition to the festivities, Ofadaboy launched the Ofadaboy Charity Foundation, which aims to provide healthy meals for Nigerians and give back to the society and communities across the southwest and Nigeria at large. The foundation’s launch was a highlight of the event, with attendees praising Ofadaboy’s efforts to promote Nigerian culture and cuisine, while also giving back to the community.
Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, and Director-General, National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism, Dr. Abisoye Fagade, were among the dignitaries who commended Ofadaboy for its efforts in promoting ofada rice and Nigerian culture.
Tobi Fletcher, Creative Director of Ofadaboy, and his partner Oyinda Fletcher, Chief Operating Officer, expressed their gratitude to all who attended and supported the event. “We’re excited to have achieved this milestone and look forward to many more years of serving and promoting Nigerian cuisine and culture,” he said.
In a bid to take Nigerian culture and food to the world, Ofadaboy has announced plans to take the Ofada Rice Day Festival to three countries next year, in partnership with some foreign embassies. This move is part of the company’s mission to promote Nigerian cuisine and culture globally, and is expected to further cement Ofadaboy’s position as a leading ambassador of Nigerian food and culture.
