NIGERIA: First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ Praised as ‘Unprecedented’

The former Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Christian Religion Matters, Dr. Sam Ogedengbe, has praised First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her continued progress in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking at an empowerment programme in Lagos, Ogedengbe highlighted the First Lady’s nationwide initiatives, which he said have touched millions of lives across all six geopolitical zones. He noted that through her Renewed Hope Initiative, she has “redefined the role of her office, building a legacy of empowerment and inclusiveness that observers say is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria’s first ladies.”

According to Ogedengbe, these initiatives recently provided small-scale business owners, artisans, and traders with essential tools, materials, and start-up support. Beneficiaries have reportedly described the intervention as a “lifeline” for families struggling to make ends meet.

He also noted that Senator Tinubu’s projects extend to scholarships for indigent students, health outreach programs for women and children, support for persons with disabilities, and entrepreneurship training for youths. These interventions, he said, are designed to reduce poverty, improve household income, and promote self-reliance.

Ogedengbe added that the First Lady has aligned her projects with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SSA-SDGs), Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, to ensure the RHI complements Nigeria’s pursuit of the United Nations’ SDGs.

He concluded that by empowering women, youths, and small businesses, Senator Tinubu is laying a solid foundation for sustainable social and economic development. Many believe her visible support for the President’s agenda strengthens public confidence in the administration and bolsters prospects for continuity in governance.
