Kylian Mbappe with Ethan and their mother
In a recent interview with Canal+, Paris Saint-Germain’s former star player Kylian Mbappe disclosed that he contemplated declining Real Madrid’s offer to join the team. Mbappe’s primary concern was the potential impact on his younger brother Ethan’s career with PSG.
Mbappe ultimately decided to leave PSG and sign with Real Madrid, while his 17-year-old brother Ethan joined Lille on a free transfer. Mbappe expressed his willingness to extend his contract with PSG to ensure his brother’s happiness, even if it meant giving up his dream of playing for Real Madrid.
The brothers’ decisions to leave PSG have led to mixed starts to their new seasons. Ethan has faced injury setbacks at Lille, while Kylian has struggled to find his footing at Real Madrid. Despite the challenges, Mbappe remains optimistic about his future with the team, emphasizing his focus on preparing for the second half of the season.
According to Mbappé,
“It hasn’t been the best start to the season, but we are preparing for the trophies that will count,” adding that “We have already won the European Super Cup.”
“We haven’t lived up to our expectations, but at Real Madrid we are looking forward to the second half of the season. That’s when you will be judged,” he said.
