Iran Says Filming Bombed Sites Now Punishable By Death

Iran’s judiciary spokesperson, Asghar Jahangir, has announced any individual caught filming sites Bombed by the United States and Israel across Iran could now be published by death.

The judiciary spokesperson made this known on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

He also said anyone endangering Iran’s national security by providing intelligence to the adversaries, including through photography or filming, can face execution and seizure of assets.

According to him, “People who take photos or videos of damaged sites and share them are effectively confirming whether strikes hit their targets.”

He described filming of bombed sites as intelligence cooperation with the enemy.

Iranian media outlet, Iran International cited police intelligence in Khuzestan, southern Iran as saying that 138 people were arrested over the past 72 hours on accusations of links to what authorities describe as “hostile media” outlets.

Authorities reportedly disclosed that the detainees had allegedly made phone calls, taken photos and videos of targeted sites, and sent the material to outlets including Iran International.
