Nana Kwaku Osei, popularly known as Nacee, believes that the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) would gain greater public and global recognition if he secures the Artiste of the Year award.
In an exclusive interview with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning, Nacee asserted that his competitors have had their chances in previous editions, making their wins less newsworthy. According to him, it would not be exceptional if any of them were crowned winners of this year’s edition.
“In fact, the Ghana Music Awards will have more reach or exposure if I win Artiste of the Year because it’s normal if any of my contenders win, and it’s not news. Nacee winning Artiste of the Year is where the news is,” he stated.
The ‘Aseda’ hitmaker went on to reveal that he’s had a prophecy about being interviewed by the BBC after winning the award, which would allow him to mention Charter House, thus enhancing the event’s publicity. The gospel music crooner is confident of winning, citing his belief that he was destined for greatness according to the word of God.
“I’ve said that if I win Artiste of the Year, the BBC will interview me, and I’ll mention Charterhouse,” he reiterated
This year, Nacee has received four nominations in the TGMA: Gospel Artiste of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, and Artiste of the Year. He considers all these categories well-deserved and believes he has a strong chance of winning each one.
However, he also expressed that he wouldn’t be disappointed if he didn’t win, saying, “It shouldn’t be the end of Nacee.”
The gospel musician is competing for Artiste of the Year alongside King Promise, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Kuami Eugene, and the 2023 winner, Black Sherif.
