The government of Ghana says it has settled its financial obligations to contractors working on the country’s Ofankor-Nsawam road project.
According to the Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza, the government of President John Dramani Mahama fully settled the contractor.
He was speaking during an inspection tour of the project with President John Mahama.
He disclosed that government has cleared all outstanding arrears owed the contractor, paving way for steady progress on the critical highway.
The revelation came after
President Mahama charged the contractor to complete the work on schedule, reminding him that the government will hold him to the June 2026 deadline.

The Ofankor–Nsawam road, a key artery linking Accra to parts of the Eastern and Ashanti regions, has long been plagued by stalled works and traffic congestion.
Commuters have expressed optimism that the latest government intervention will finally bring relief to one of the busiest corridors in the country.
