Born and raised in Birmingham, UK, XANE (real name Zain Shah) grew up immersed in the timeless grooves of old-school RnB, thanks to his parents who filled their home and car rides with the genre’s soulful melodies. This early exposure became the foundation of XANE’s musical journey, shaping the sound that now defines him as a rising artist in the modern RnB scene. XANE began his musical exploration at the age of 11, focusing on developing his voice. By 15, his journey evolved into songwriting and music creation, opening the door to endless possibilities. James David Washington, professionally known as Jim Beanz, is a producer, songwriter, singer, and musician who has worked with some of the biggest artists in the world, including Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Chris Brown, Shakira, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Nelly Furtado, Jamie Fox, Jennifer Hudson, Diddy, The Pussycat Dolls, and more. Raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Beanz’ love for music can be traced back to his being raised in church surrounded by gospel music, with his mum a jazz enthusiast and his dad a Prince fan. At the age of nine, he began violin lessons, before moving onto the piano, the organ and finally the drums. By the time he was in high school, Jim had formed the band Tre Sons, who were signed to Sisqo’s ‘90s R&B sensation, Dru Hill. From there he honed his production skills, earning him the chance to collaborate with Timbaland.

Beanz has expanded his repertoire into TV and Film, contributing 95% of the songs (written and produced) for season 1 of the hit FOX series EMPIRE, while also portraying a character on the show, Titan. The soundtrack debuted at #1 on Billboard 200 and received a Grammy nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. Jim, credited as executive music supervisor, later wrote, and produced many songs for Empire Seasons 2, 4, 5, highlighted by the prolific song “Good People”, which garnered an Emmy Nomination. He also enjoyed working on the show the Simpsons on FOX and is currently writing and developing his own TV and Film projects and working with various networks in North America and Abroad.
