In a heartwarming gesture, Vin Diesel has announced that the upcoming film, Fast & Furious Part 2, will be filmed in Los Angeles as a tribute to the city’s recovery efforts from recent wildfires. The decision marks a return to the franchise’s roots, as the original Fast and Furious film was also shot in LA over 25 years ago.
According to Diesel, the idea to bring the production back to LA was partly influenced by his co-star Jordana Brewster, who encouraged him to support the city during its time of need. In a post on social media, Diesel shared a message from Brewster, who had reached out to him during the recent wildfires, saying, “Please have Universal film the rest of Fast X Part 2 in LA.”
Diesel expressed his gratitude for Brewster’s suggestion, stating, “Los Angeles needs it now more than ever… Los Angeles is where Fast and Furious started filming 25 years ago… and now Fast will finally return home. All love…”
