Dr Oloh will be guffawing in his grave – or wherever, his soulful soul, will be. Sometimes in life, our names and, seemingly hardly recognised acts – will only spiral out of control, and, become bigger than life, without a deliberate motive. Or posthumously! Inadvertently. Name me one millennial or Gen Z that could’ve remembered Late calypso artist, Dr oh’s song! Let alone sing it. With such gusto! Not to throw in a knowing slant and nuance! 

U COCO ROS HO – has this last few days, stormed the capital city like wildfire in harmattan. And the flames are spreading further afield! Salaciously and mischievously, being infectious and contagious, in the political and social spaces, around the country! Such contagion and mischief – like others, before them, have only a short stint of conflagration or confrontation. Nothing that could stir the hornet’s nest beyond its fated proverbial “three-day Shelf life”!

Our psyche and emotional film reels are designed that way. Temporal. Tormenting but not a fixture or permanent.

U COCO ROS HO – will soon be forgotten. Relegated to the back burner at best. Shoved into a footnote basket at worst. If not, altogether scooped into the trash bins of yesterday!

Politicians and those with clout, hit by scandal – however, egregious, are au fait, with such ephemeral episodes. Savant public opinion and pundits, believe the only person and party that have gained or stepped up their trapeze artist act – are Fatima Bio and, by association, the SLPP. Their relevance numbers have ratcheted up considerably! With such frivolity and frenzy!

Fatima Bio is a consummate actor ( literally and figuratively)! Those who used the song to ruffle her feathers and hurl barbs and gibes at her – have, unwittingly, shoved into her hands, invaluable currency notes! To cash, with wolverine grin, at the nearest political bank! Coming out with bags full of gold bullion. Comprising empathy and effusive sympathy! Fatima Bio will whip up a charade of character assassination and a facadè of being grievously wronged as both a woman and the first lady! Strategies that spin heads and spurn support! And, good for the SLPP’s revamped image post the controversial national party chairman election!

Fatima Bio has perfected the art of being seen as a victim and a victor! Depending on her role and mission! A very powerful skilful flair. With such finesse and effortless guile that she deserves Oscars for! You can hate her or love her – like that instinctive push away or pull towards Marmite. A rarefied and rewarding gift. If employed astutely with wile and guile.

Fatima Bio has antics and semantics in her arsenal that are hard to emulate by any woman politician or future first lady! She has both set the bar very high and, unimaginably, exciting! That will be part of her legacy and efficacy!

Fatima Bio could make a “fine” politician. In a country where optics and tricks – are tools for successful survival.
