American President Donald Trump has stated that he does not consider Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei to be a leader.

President Trump’s remarks on Monday came as uncertainty surrounds Mojtaba’s whereabouts.

According to Trump, “Khamenei’s son is unavailable. Nobody knows what happened to him,” Trump told reporters. “I don’t consider him really the leader.”

He says several Iranian leadership groups had been hit.

Trump stated that many senior Iranian figures were no longer in place.

He says “We have numerous leader groups. They’ve all been killed,” adding that some leaders remain.

He says the United States was engaging with individuals he described as “very representative of the country” who could take on leadership roles.

“We think we have people that are very representative of the country and will do a good job,” Trump said, adding that those figures were “very respected.”

Trump also pointed to what he described as a broader shift in Iran’s political structure.

“There’s automatically a regime change,” according to Trump.
