US President Donald Trump says he would halt planned strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure, following what he described as “very good and productive conversations” with Tehran.
He made this known on Monday, March 23, 2026.
According to Trump, “Based on the tenor and tone of these… constructive conversations… I have instructed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five day period.”
The US President says the pause, which follows his earlier 48-hour ultimatum, would be “subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions,” which are set to continue this week.
