American President, Donald Trump, has pardoned celebrity couple and reality TV personalities, Todd and Julie Chrisley. Julie and Todd were jailed for several years back in 2022 for a conspiracy to defraud banks of over $30 million.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, according to a White House communication, Trump called Todd and Julie’s daughter, Savanah to inform her that he has granted them full pardons.

Trump in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by his Assistant, Margo Martin, told Savannah about the jailing of her parents that “It’s a terrible thing. But it’s a great thing because your parents are going to be free and clean, and hopefully we can do it by tomorrow.”

He went on tell Savannah that “I don’t know them (Todd and Julie) but give my regards.”

In a statement after the video call with Savannah, the Chrisley’s lawyer, Alex Little, says “Todd and Julie’s case is exactly why the pardon power exists: to correct misguided prosecutions and reaffirm basic constitutional protections.”

Alex expressed appreciation to Trump, saying “Thanks to President Trump, the Chrisley family can now begin healing and rebuilding their lives.”

What happened?

Back in August 2019, Todd and Julie were indicted on several federal charges, including bank fraud, tax fraud and conspiracy. Julie faced additional wire fraud and obstruction charges.

The couple was ordered to pay $17.8 million in restitution. Todd was jailed for 12 years and Julie was sentenced to seven years in prison.
