Trevor Noah to Host 2026 Grammy Awards for Record-Breaking Sixth and Final Year

The Recording Academy has confirmed that comedian and television personality Trevor Noah will return to host the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 1, 2026. This marks his sixth consecutive year at the helm, a streak that places him among the most prolific hosts in the history of the awards.

The ceremony will take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, celebrating the biggest achievements in music from the past year.

A Historic Milestone

By hosting for the sixth time in a row, Noah becomes the first person to achieve a six-year consecutive run since Andy Williams, who hosted the first seven live telecasts from 1971 to 1977.

While late singer John Denver also hosted the show six times, his appearances (1978–79 and 1982–85) were not in consecutive years, further highlighting the consistency and success of Noah’s tenure.

‘One Last Time’

Despite approaching the record held by Williams, Noah has indicated that he will not seek to extend his streak. Ben Winston, executive producer of the Grammys and principal at Fulwell 73, announced that this will be Noah’s final year as the face of the show.

“I am beyond thrilled to welcome Trevor Noah back to host the Grammys for his sixth, and sadly, final time,” Winston said in a statement. “He’s been the most phenomenal host… His impact on the show has been truly spectacular, and we can’t wait to do it together one last time.”

Context for the 2026 Ceremony

Noah’s final hosting gig coincides with a high-stakes year for the Recording Academy. The 2026 nominations, announced in late 2025, feature heavyweights such as:

  • Kendrick Lamar: Leading with nine nominations for GNX.
  • Lady Gaga: Returning to the main stage with seven nominations for Mayhem.
  • Afrobeats Stars: Several Nigerian icons, including Davido, Burna Boy, and Ayra Starr, are in the running for the Best African Music Performance category.

Known for his sharp wit and genuine appreciation for the artists, Noah is expected to deliver a memorable farewell performance that celebrates the global reach and diversity of modern music.
