Duncan-Williams, John Mahama, Ghana, Transformation, Agenda
An Archbishop and founder of Action Chapel International, one of Ghana’s leading Charismatic churches, has called on the President of Ghana, John Mahama to lead a bold transformation agenda for Ghana.
Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams urged that President Mahama’s leadership should strive to strengthen the Ghanaian economy and unite the nation under a clear, long-term development vision.
The Christian cleric made the call in a speech during the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the State House in Accra.
He further appealed to President Mahama to use his second chance at leadership to make a lasting impact.
The Archbishop said “Mr President, within three years, make a difference. Impact this world and change the narrative of Ghana. Let the Cedi thrive under your leadership. Let the Cedi flourish under your leadership and let things get better and better under your leadership like never before.”
He observed the need for a values-based national identity anchored in patriotism and faith.
“We need to develop a strong love for God. Also, love the country and the love for Ghana,” he said, warning against political divisions that weaken national progress.
He called for the immediate development of a comprehensive national agenda, similar to long-term development plans in countries like China, India, and Dubai, which, according to him, have 100-year national visions that transcend political cycles.
“Ghana, our motherland, is where our vision and agenda are. Under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, a national agenda will be established to compel all stakeholders to follow that agenda,” he added.
The National Day of Prayer brought together political leaders, clergy, and civil society groups to intercede for peace, unity, and direction for the nation under the theme of thanksgiving and hope.
