Nigerian singer and two-time Grammy winner Tems is set to take the stage at the 2025 Roots Picnic, joining an impressive lineup of music legends and contemporary stars. The 17th edition of the festival will return to Philadelphia’s Fairmont Park on May 31 and June 1, hosted by the legendary American hip-hop band, The Roots.
Tems will share the stage with neo-soul legend D’Angelo, rock icon Lenny Kravitz, rap stars Meek Mill, Latto, and Glorilla, as well as Miguel, Kaytranada, and British-Sudanese artist Elmiene. This year’s festival will also commemorate the 30th anniversary of The Roots’ groundbreaking sophomore album.
Tems is no stranger to high-profile performances, having toured five continents in support of her debut album “Born in the Wild” last year. She has also graced major stages such as Coachella and Glastonbury Festival in 2023.
Tems’ inclusion in this star-studded lineup follows in the footsteps of fellow African artists who have performed at the Roots Picnic. Previous highlights include Wizkid’s standout performance alongside Mary J. Blige and Summer Walker in 2022. With Tems on board, this year’s festival promises to be an unforgettable celebration of music and culture.
