Ghana have secured crucial three points in their bid to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars defeated Mali 2 – 1 on Thursday night in Bamako, thanks to a late winner from super-sub Jordan Ayew.
The Crystal Palace striker came off the bench to score the all-important goal at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako.
Ghana had conceded first just on the brink of half-time after a Kamory Doumbia’s deflected effort. But Ernest Nuamah restored parity for Ghana in the 51st minute and Jordan secured the win with his 94th minute goal.
The result from Bamako means Ghana are now tie with Comoros on points (6 points each) but it’s the Black Stars who sit second on the table behind Comoros due to goal difference. Ghana will host the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on June 10.
