French footballer, Kylian Mbappe, has expressed profound joy about joining Spanish and European champions, Real Madrid, a club since his childhood, he has been dreaming to play for.
In an instagram post on Monday night after Real Madrid announced officially that they have signed him in a five years deal, Mbappe wrote that his dream has come true.
He wrote: “A dream come true. So happy and proud to join the club of my dream @realmadrid.”
Mbappe added: “It’s impossible to explain how happy and excited I feel right now. I can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thank you for your incredible support.”
The former Paris Saint-Germain forward, shared photos of himself during his youth days wearing Real Madrid’s sportswear. In one of the four old photos he shared, Mbappe was seen posing with then Real Madrid player, Cristiano Ronaldo whom he has previously said was one of his role models in football.
In an official statement on Monday night, Madrid said: “Real Madrid C.F. and Kylian Mbappé have reached an agreement under which he will become a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons.”
The announcement brings to an end years of negotiations and speculations about Mbappe becoming a Madrid player.
For years, Mbappe has made it clear that his dream was to play for Madrid.
Photos of him as a youngster sitting in a room with posters of Madrid players such as Cristiano Ronaldo surfaced on the internet some years back, and there has been consistent speculation in the media about his move to Madrid.
In February this year, Mbappe announced through a video message that he was going to exit the French club, Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2023/24 season.
