Grammy-nominated rap star Quavo has kicked off 2025 with the release of his latest single, “Trappa Rappa,” via Quality Control Music/Motown Records. The track, his first official release of the year, follows a groundbreaking 2024 in which he was honored with Variety’s Hitmakers Humanitarian of the Year Award for his efforts to combat gun violence through the Rocket Foundation.
The song arrives alongside a Hidji-directed music video that takes fans back to Quavo’s Atlanta roots, showcasing his journey from hardship to rap superstardom. The rapper first teased the track during a livestream with Kai Cenat, and in the lead-up to the release, he shared a video of himself doing push-ups on Instagram, hyping up fans by declaring a return to his signature “Bando” flow.
Adding to the buzz, NBA star Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks shared a snippet of the song on his Instagram story, soundtracking highlights from his weekend at the NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco.
With “Trappa Rappa” now out, Quavo is making it clear that 2025 is just getting started.
