The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has threatened to sack his appointees who fail to declare their assets to the state by close of day on May 7, 2025.
The latest ultimatum follows an earlier March 31 deadline, which some appointees failed to meet.
Delivering an address
at the launch of the Code of Conduct for government appointees in Accra on Monday, May 5, President Mahama reiterated the seriousness of asset declaration, saying no appointee of his would be exempt from the consequences of non-compliance.
According to him, “If by close of day, Wednesday, 7th May 2025, any of you still fails to declare your assets, count yourself automatically dismissed because when it comes to protecting the integrity of this government, I will not compromise.”
The Ghanaian President
announced financial sanctions for defaulters, requiring those who missed the March deadline to forfeit three months’ salary, in addition to a one-month mandatory donation to the MahamaCares Fund.
