Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama, has announced plans to construct a modern bridge over the Afram River in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
He made this known in a speech during his Thank You Tour of the Eastern Region.
According to President Mahama, the bridge will be constructed from Adawso to Ekye Amanfrom in the Kwahu Afram Plains to permanently replace the current reliance on pontoon ferry for crossings.
He says the construction of the bridge will be done under his Big Push Infrastructure program.
President Mahama is touring all 16 regions of Ghana for electing him for a second-term of office.
