President Mahama Appoints Chartered Banker Matilda Asante-Asiedu As Second Deputy Governor of Bank of Ghana

Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama, has appointed chartered banker, Matilda Asante-Asiedu, as the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG).

Madam Asante-Asiedu’s appointment was announced by the Presidency in Accra on Monday, April 28, 2025.

In a statement issued and signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Spokesperson to President Mahama, the Presidency announced that Madam Asante-Asiedu’s appointment is in accordance with Section 17 of the Bank of Ghana Act, 2002 (Act 612).

 

About Matilda Asante-Asiedu

Madam Asante-Asiedu is a Chartered Banker and a seasoned corporate leader who previously served as Group Head of Retail Banking at Access Bank Ghana PLC.

She holds an MBA in Marketing from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) Business School (2021) and an MA in Journalism Studies from Cardiff University (2005).
