Controversial Nigerian street-pop artist Portable has ignited a fresh round of social media drama after stripping the title of “wife” from all the women he has children with, officially declaring Bewaji as his one and only wife for the year 2026.
The announcement was made in a chaotic video shared on New Year’s Day, showing the singer in a heated confrontation with several women.

In the viral footage, Portable is seen exchanging sharp words with the women in what appears to be a domestic setting. At one point, the tension escalates to physical contact, with one woman seen angrily yanking at the singer’s shirt as he makes his provocative declaration.
Directly addressing the camera and those present, Portable made his position for the new year clear:
“2026, it is one wife, baby mamas. Bewaji is my only wife, the rest of you are baby mamas,” he shouted.
