A man, Eze Elechi Amadi, has been arrested for the murder of his 18-year-old younger brother, Otu Ifeanyi, in Kajola, Ondo state. The suspect was apprehended while attempting to dispose of his brother’s body in a plastic drum.
According to the state Police Commissioner, Adebowale Lawal, a resident of Paragon Street, Kajola, reported observing a suspicious drum in front of his home. Upon inspection, the lifeless body of Otu Ifeanyi was discovered inside the drum, which Amadi was transporting on a motorcycle.
During interrogation, Amadi confessed to killing his brother over a financial dispute, alleging that the deceased had unlawfully transferred ₦20,000 from his bank account.
The police have deposited the body at the mortuary and stated that the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of their investigation.
The arrest was part of a broader operation that saw the apprehension of 100 suspected criminals across the state for various offenses, including murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, and cultism. The police commissioner credited the public’s cooperation for the success of these crime prevention efforts.
