Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has returned to the state and is expected to resume office today, September 19.

He arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport around 11:50 a.m. on Friday, more than 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu ended the six-month emergency rule in the state.

A crowd of supporters had gathered earlier at the VIP wing of the airport to welcome the governor.

Although the House of Assembly resumed sitting on Thursday, Governor Fubara did not appear at the Government House, despite the large turnout of supporters awaiting him.
