Former Nigerian Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has officially joined the opposition coalition, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter ) on Monday, November 24, 2025, Atiku said his switch from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ADC was now “official.”
“It’s official. – AA”, his short announcement read.
Atiku served as Vice President under former President Goodluck Jonathan on the ticket of the PDP. But PDP has in recent times been rocked with internal crisis and mass defections of its key members including Governors.
