Nigeria Declares Tuesday As Public Holiday In Honor Of Buhari

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Tuesday, July 15, 2025 as a public holiday in honor of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Nigeria’s Minister of Interior,
Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the holiday in a statement issued today, Monday, July 14, 2025.

Mr. Buhari died on Sunday, July 13, 2025 in London.

He is expected to be buried in Daura, Katsina State around 2:00pm on Tuesday, July 15.
