The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt, has stated that Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh was disrespectful in saying that since independence, no President of Ghana, including late Kwame Nkrumah, has achieved what incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo, has achieved over the last seven years.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh also known as NAPO, is the running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of Ghana’s running New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming Presidential election,

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Accra-based Metro TV, Mr. Pratt says NAPO belittling of Nkrumah’s achievements was directly opposite the advise given him by the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Otumfuo had urged NAPO during his formal introduction ceremony in Kumasi on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, to serve with humility.

Specifically, Otumfuo told NAPO “don’t let Dr. Bawumia regret choosing you. Serve with humility.”

But NAPO’s first public address as Dr. Bawumia’s running in the December 7, 2024 Presidential election, has been met with sharp public uproar, as many political observers and analysts, as well as majority of Ghanaians find his comparison of Dr. Nkrumah to Akufo-Addo very disrespectful and arrogant. For a man like NAPO who has been tagged in the past and even now as an ‘arrogant man’, many are those who think he deserves to be labeled a very arrogant personality.

Kwesi Pratt strongly believes NAPO did not just belittle Dr. Nkrumah but was equally so disrespectful to former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
