Montecasino, Johannesburg’s premier entertainment hub, is pulling out all the stops this festive season.

Montecasino’s famed Italian-inspired village has transformed into a spectacular ‘Magical Italian Village of Lights.’

 

Almost 500,000 LED lights now illuminate the property, creating a magical atmosphere.

THE PERFECT SELFIE SPOTS

 

Visitors can enjoy over 20 new selfie spots, including walk-through installations and festive backdrops.

 

A dedicated local team spent six months crafting this incredible display, according to Suitcase And Chardonnay.

 

“We’ve made it bigger and brighter this year to spread even more festive joy,” said Mike Page, Montecasino’s Complex General Manager.

MONTECASINO’S SHOPPING DESTINATIONS

 

From 16 to 23 December, Montecasino’s Ballroom will host its annual Festive Market. Shoppers can browse artisanal goods, handcrafted items, and unique gifts.

 

Delicious food and premium beverages will add to the festive spirit. Open from 12 PM to 9 PM, the market is perfect for last-minute gift hunters and holiday revellers.

 

Montecasino’s theatres are bursting with holiday cheer.

MONTECASINO’S TOP SHOWS

 

Disney’s The Magic Box enchants audiences with timeless songs and a magical tale from 22 November to 5 January.

 

Meanwhile, A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens’s beloved classic, returns to the Pieter Toerien main stage from 27 November to 8 December.

 

For ballet fans, the ABBA Show: A Cinderella Story blends the Swedish supergroup’s music with a magical twist on the Cinderella tale, according to Pieter Toerien.

 

It runs from 26 December to 19 January. Music lovers won’t want to miss the Deep In The City Festival on 15 December, featuring Black Coffee and Themba.

Montecasino’s cinema, home to the biggest screen in Africa, is the place to catch festive blockbusters.

 

With films like Gladiator II, Moana 2, and Mufasa, there’s something for all ages.
