Mahama visits victims of tidal waves destruction in Volta region

Source: Africapublicity                           President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has paid a visit to communities in the Volta Region affected by recent tidal waves. The visit aimed to show solidarity with the victims and assess the extent of the destruction caused by the tidal waves.

During his visit, Mahama interacted with the affected residents, listening to their stories and concerns. He also presented relief items to support those who have lost their homes and livelihoods.

Residents shared harrowing accounts of displacement, loss of homes, and disrupted livelihoods.

Community leaders appealed for urgent relief, including temporary shelter, food, and financial aid. Many called for the swift completion of the sea defense project to prevent further devastation

Mahama’s visit comes as the government and other stakeholders continue to provide relief and support to affected communities. The visit highlights the need for sustained attention and support to mitigate the impact of natural disasters on vulnerable communities.
