Luka Modric
Croatian international, Luka Modric, will carry on with his impressive spell at Real Madrid for yet another season.
Real Madrid President, Florentino Pérez confirmed at Wembley Stadium after Madrid lifted their 15th Champions League title on Saturday, June 1, 2024, that the 38-year-old legendary midfielder will play for the reigning Spanish Champions next season.
Pérez told the press that “I think Luka will continue with us for one more season, I believe he’ll stay.
Renowned Italian sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano, later wrote on social media that “One more meeting will take place to formally sign the contract, Modric won’t care about money…only Real.”
Modric, a world cup finalist, joined Real Madrid from Tottenham in the summer of 2012. He established himself well in the club, winning an astonishing six Champions League titles with Madrid.
He won the coveted Ballon d’Or in 2018 following Croatia’s impressive performance in the FIFA World Cup in Russia in which they played the final against eventual winner, France.
There had been speculations about his future in recent weeks due to his age but Pérez has drawn curtains over discussions about his future.
