Funeral prayers (Janaza) for Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif Kevin “Latz” Ayodele, both close associates of former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, will be held in London on Sunday, January 4, 2026, following the return of their bodies to the United Kingdom.
According to a statement released on Saturday by Boxing King Media, the Janaza service is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. at the London Central Mosque, located at 146 Park Road, London NW8 7RG. The announcement extended condolences to the bereaved families and loved ones.
Background to the tragedy
Ghami and Ayodele lost their lives in a road traffic accident in Nigeria on Monday, December 29, 2025. The crash occurred along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, at Makun in Ogun State, when a Lexus SUV carrying Anthony Joshua collided with a stationary truck.
• Sina Ghami served as Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach
• Latif Ayodele was his personal trainer
Both men died at the scene. Anthony Joshua, who was also in the vehicle, survived the crash with minor injuries and later returned to the UK.
Funeral arrangements
The London service will provide an opportunity for:
• Family members
• Friends
• Members of the boxing and sports community to gather and pay their final respects in line with Islamic funeral rites.
The deaths of Ghami and Ayodele have drawn tributes from across the boxing world, with many acknowledging their behind-the-scenes contributions to Joshua’s career and their wider impact within elite sports training circles.
Further burial arrangements are expected to be communicated by the families after the Janaza prayers.
