Lagos to Host “Biggest Countdown Event in Africa” with Wizkid, Burna Boy, and More

Lagos, Nigeria – Get ready to ring in the new year with a bang! Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced an epic lineup for The Greater Lagos Countdown 2025, promising the “biggest countdown event in Africa.”

The celebration will feature a star-studded cast of Afrobeats giants, including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Olamide, and Seyi Vibez. The concert aims to showcase Lagos’s dynamic culture and entertainment scene, offering an unforgettable experience for residents and visitors alike.

To ensure accessibility across the state, the countdown will take place simultaneously in five key locations: Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos Island, and Epe. Each location will host electrifying performances, cultural displays, and a unique celebration of the “indomitable Lagos spirit.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu took to social media to express his excitement, stating that the event is “more than just a concert, it’s a celebration of our vibrant culture, our unity, and the indomitable Lagos spirit.”

In addition to the headliners, attendees can expect performances from other popular artists like Adekunle Gold, Niniola, Lojay, and Qinq Madi.
