Journalist Michael Wolff Sues Melania Trump for Defamation and Interference Over Upcoming Tell-All Book

Former U.S. First Lady Melania Trump is facing a defamation lawsuit filed by journalist and author Michael Wolff, who accuses her of attempting to block the release of his upcoming tell-all book about her life.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Wolff claims Melania “deliberately and maliciously interfered” with his publishing deal and defamed him through public statements concerning his forthcoming book, “The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump (Redux).”

In the lawsuit, Wolff alleges that Melania and her team spread “false and damaging” statements, accusing him of fabricating interviews, intimidating sources, and “manufacturing lies for profit.” He says these claims led international distributors to withdraw, costing him a multi-million-dollar publishing contract.

Wolff further contends that he has evidence showing Melania personally instructed a public relations firm to warn media outlets against covering or promoting his book, calling it a “calculated campaign to destroy his reputation and livelihood.”

The suit also includes a letter from Melania Trump’s attorneys demanding Wolff retract and apologize for comments he made to The Daily Beast, in which he linked her to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In that interview, Wolff claimed Melania was “very involved” in the Epstein scandal and could be a key connection in Donald Trump’s alleged ties to Epstein — accusations her legal team strongly denied as “false and defamatory.”

Wolff is asking the court to declare that his book’s contents are not defamatory and to rule that Melania Trump will be liable for damages if she continues to “harass, intimidate, or obstruct” its publication.

As of now, Melania Trump’s representatives have not responded to requests for comment.
