Suspected jihadists have kidnapped and publicly killed Malian tiktoker, Mariam Cisse, after accusing her of working for the government of Mali.
Mariam was reportedly kidnapped on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
Her brother reportedly confirmed her killing to Agence France-Presse. He said “My sister was arrested [on] Thursday by the jihadists”, adding that they had accused her of “informing the Malian army of their movements.”
According to him, following her kidnapping, they took her on a motorbike to Tonka on Friday where he said she was shot in Mali’s Independence Square, saying “I was in the crowd.”
