James Owusu Boateng Recognized for 25 Years of Service to CARE Ghana

CARE Ghana has honoured James Owusu Boateng for 25 years of dedicated service. James, a driver based at the Kumasi sub-office, has supported several of CARE Ghana’s projects since joining the organization in 2000.

Over the years, he has helped teams travel safely to remote project sites and earned a reputation as one of CARE’s most dependable staff.

Colleagues commended his calm nature, respectful attitude, and deep knowledge of project locations and operations.

Speaking at the event, CARE Ghana’s Country Director, Michael Alandu, noted: “James is someone who shows up, gets the work done, and carries himself with humility. These are the people who keep our work moving, and we’re grateful for their contribution over the years.”

James was presented with a cheque gift of $2,000, a citation, and items worth $500.

In his remarks, James shared: “CARE has been a big part of my life. I’m thankful for the journey and for all the people I’ve worked with.”

The occasion also marked the farewell of Mr. Benjamin Appiah, who retired after 27 years of service. Based in the Accra office, Benjamin was celebrated for his steady commitment and longstanding support.

Staff marking 5, 10, and 15 years of service were also recognized.

CARE International is a global humanitarian and development organization working to end poverty and deliver lifesaving support in emergencies. In Ghana, CARE has operated since 1994, focusing on women and girls, climate resilience, agriculture, and inclusive governance.
