Olivia Yacé has resigned as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, citing her commitment to her values like respect, dignity and excellence.
In her resignation notice, she says “It’s time for Africa”, reaffirming her commitment to representing Africa with dignity.
The Miss Universe 2025 finalist, Olivia Yacé represented Côte d’Ivoire. She renounced the title of Miss Universe 2025 Africa & Oceania just days after she was given the honor.
As this year pageant’s fourth runner-up, Olivia was declared Miss Universe Africa and Oceania on Nov. 21, 2025.
Renouncing her title in a statement posted on her official Instagram handle, she said “As the representative of Côte d’Ivoire at the Miss Universe 2025 competition in Bangkok, I witnessed firsthand that I was capable of accomplishing great things despite adversity.”
She wrote that “But to continue on this path, I must remain true to my values: respect, dignity, excellence, and equal opportunity the strongest pillars that guide me.”
The 27-year-old model noted that “With a heart full of gratitude and profound respect, I hereby announce my resignation from the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, as well as from any future affiliation with the Miss Universe Committee.”
