Ghanaian actress, Nana Ama McBrown, has revealed the huge financial cost to treating her arm following a car accident in January 2013.
According to the renowned actress and television personality, she has spent about half a million Ghana cedi to treat her hand.
She made this known in an interview on TV3’s New Day programme with journalist Cookie T on December 17, 2025.
McBrown said in recent months alone, her medical bills have increased to about Ghc 500,000.
She stated that “If I should tell you the money I’ve spent on this hand, it’s almost GH¢500,000 since May till now. And remember, it’s not just the money — the pain, the stress, the emotional trauma. You need to go through it yourself because you can’t rely on people.”
According to the Kumawood actress, her recovery has involved intensive physiotherapy, including early morning sessions at the 37 Military Hospital, followed by continued therapy at home.
McBrown noted that “I had to work on my arm every morning and evening, using the stimulation machine they taught me to operate.”
She disclosed that she has undergone five surgeries in total.
“This was my fifth and final surgery,” she explained, adding that “I’m thankful to God that as I speak, I don’t feel the pain again.”
