The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has projected Ghana’s Population will increase to 52.47 million by 2050.
GSS made this known in its latest projections of the West African nation’s population.
According to GSS in a document made available to the press, “the population pressure on Greater Accra Region will deepen by 2030.”
It added that “although dependency will drop a little by 2030, the fall is due to the decreasing share of children.”
GSS further noted that “the population structure is expected to change with a further decline in the population of children, while 60years+ will increase.
Ghana’s Population per the 2021 Housing and Population Census, currently stands at 30.8 million.
